Sarah Cavalli
I am a graduate of Rowan University and have played competitive softball for 12 years. Little League allowed me the opportunity at age seven to discover this sport accelerate into middle school, and compete at the high school varsity level. My experience was amplified by playing for various travel programs in New Jersey, competing in Pony Nationals as a 14U athlete, and attending over 20 collegiate camps and showcase events. The skills and mindset developed over my career directly reflect the many instructional clinics, college camps, and individual hitting and position coaches I had the privilege of working with. I look forward to being a mentor to the athletes of this program. Coach Sarah is the Vortex Fastpitch Co-Managing Director and the 14U Head Coach.

I have been an active member of the softball community for over 18 years. My two older daughters started in little league, journeyed through various softball programs, and competed at the varsity level in high school. I have coached, and conditioned athletes from 10U to 18U and have a handful of previous players competing in college. I was recently named the varsity softball coach at Rumson Fair-Haven Regional High School. The Vortex program will focus on building athletes’ foundational skills while experiencing competitive softball and building their confidence to play in middle and high school. The program prides itself on instructing athletes in a customized fashion to meet all players learning modalities and processing abilities. Coach Dan is the Vortex Fastpitch Co-Managing Director and the 12U Head Coach.

Jacob Ramirez
A lifelong baseball player from Matawan, New Jersey. My journey with the game has been filled with hard work, dedication, and a love for the sport that continues to grow every day. I played my high school ball at St. John Vianney before committing to Mercer County Community College, where I had the privilege of starting as a freshman catcher. After Mercer, I transferred to Brookdale Community College, where I expanded my game—playing both catcher and first base while becoming a switch hitter. This sport has taught me more than just skills on the field; it’s shaped my mindset, discipline, and determination. I know firsthand what it takes to push yourself to the next level, and I love helping young athletes do the same. Whether it’s mastering the fundamentals of catching, improving their approach at the plate, or building confidence in their game, I’m here to help the next generation of athletes develop the skills and mindset needed for success.

Samantha Servidio
Softball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I played on various travel organizations from 12U to 18U throughout the states of NJ, PA, DE, CA, FL, & NY. Numerous colleges recognized my work ethic and passion, resulting in my recruitment to play at Immaculata University. Throughout my college career, my most significant achievement was being selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 Softball Team and the two-time CSAC Spring All-Academic Team. I was honored as a 2013 NFCA Scholar Athlete, earned a 2013 Honorable Mention All-CSAC honor, and finished my first year as a Second Team All-CSAC recognition in 2012. Softball provided the many life skills required to support my career goals; today, I work in Healthcare management and continue to assist other young athletes with achieving their own goals on and off the playing field.

Maria Cuccarullo
Softball has been a significant part of my life since I was four years old when I started playing t-ball. From there, I went on to play for multiple teams each season, eventually joining the Norwich University college team. Throughout my journey, I’ve played nearly every position, but I primarily spent my time as a catcher and shortstop before transitioning to second base and the outfield in college. I’ve also enjoyed coaching my younger siblings in their softball and baseball pursuits at various levels. In 2017, I put away my cleats and traded them for combat boots, enlisting in the Vermont Army National Guard. I served for six years as a cannon crew member and flight operations specialist, achieving the rank of Sergeant. After my military service, I realized how much I missed the game and decided to return by becoming an umpire. My love for softball is enduring, and I cherish the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of athletes.
